ECPE Launches New Task Force to Develop White Paper on AI in Power Electronics

The ECPE Network has established a new Task Force comprising 40 member organisations, which is working on a White Paper on the topic of ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Power Electronics’.

The publication of this ECPE White Paper is planned for the second quarter of 2026. The structure of this document will take into account all life cycles of a power electronics product, from the early development and design phase to product operation in the field:

  • Introduction (motivation, scope, definitions)

  • Use of AI methods and tools in Design and Engineering

  • Use of AI methods and tools in Product Manufacturing

  • Use of AI methods and tools in Product Operation

  • Use of AI in Training/Learning of humans as a cross-cutting topic

The main objectives of this initiative, with the planned ECPE White Paper, are to raise awareness of AI in Power Electronics, strengthen cooperation between industry and academia, and align research directions and programmes.
