The WMG Winding Centre of Excellence has a full suite of winding equipment which are widely used in the automotive sector and focussed on development of volume processes and quality development. The facility will cover all types of windings, together with rotor assembly, magnetisation, impregnation and capability for electrical, thermal and mechanical testing along with magnetic characterisation of PM-rotors and lamination materials. This provides a unique, off-line facility to develop manufacturing processes for these higher volume applications.

The PEATER (Power Electronics Applications and Technology in Energy Research) group was founded in 2005 by Professor Philip Mawby, to establish a world-class centre for research into power electronics, power semiconductor devices and applications in power systems, and power conversion.
We carry out work in electrical energy conversion, from the very small power (mW) levels to very high power levels (MW). This technology centres on the developments in semiconductor switching devices. The developments in MOSFET and IGBT technologies have paved the way for new applications such as hybrid vehicles, electric aircraft, electric ship propulsion, wind turbines as well as the revolution in mobile phone and computing devices, where energy management is critical to all these applications.

Time: 10:00h - 11:40h; Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric UK Innovation Center
Meeting point: 9:30h pickup at ICC
Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric Innovation Centre UK (TEIC) was established in 2019 as the UK-based R&D centre of CRRC Times Electric. Located in Birmingham, TEIC focuses on cutting-edge power electronics research supporting sectors such as rail transit, renewable energy, and industrial automation. The facility includes advanced laboratories for Converter System Testing, Power Module Testing, and Power Module Packaging, enabling comprehensive development and validation of high-performance semiconductor and inverter technologies. TEIC also serves as a hub for international collaboration, talent development, and innovation.

Delegates will be welcomed with a joint introduction to TEIC and Dynex, followed by a product poster presentation with refreshments. They will then tour our specialised laboratories, including Converter System Testing and Power Module Testing, and observe live engineering demonstrations. The visit will conclude with a Q&A session and networking opportunity. Opportunity to view and discuss some of the latest power semiconductor solutions with experts form our subsidiary company Dynex Semiconductor Ltd.
